Go Utes and Broncos!

Eric and I went to the University of Utah game against TCU last night. It was an exciting game and they barely came away with a victory (13-10) in the last seconds... TCU's kicker missed two fairly close field goal attempts late in the 4th quarter. With barely 2 minutes left and the score at 6-10, the Utes had an amazing drive. It ended in the much needed touchdown, but it left TCU 47 seconds to give their kicker one last try to tie the game and send it into overtime. TCU was driving and making first downs.... at about their 35 yard line it was 3rd down and only 4 seconds to go. They went for it (probably because the kicker had missed the other field goals) with a long bomb. We intercepted and the game was over!!! Everyone rushed the field, I soooo love it when they do that.

Once again, sadly enough, this is the best picture of us.

I also found out that the Broncos won, coming back from a 13 point deficit behind the Browns. Cutler threw for 447 yards and 3 touchdowns! That sounds like an amazing game as well.

Go Utes!!

Last night Eric and I went to the University of Utah game and they played Oregon State... it was such an exciting game! Syrena's special day brought the Utes some much needed luck and they were able to pull off the win, much to many people's surprise (not surprising to true Ute fans of course). It was maddening though because the Beavers (OSU) scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter, giving us only 3 minutes to tie the game (their score put them up by 8 points). So the Utes charge down the field and make the touchdown... our first attempt at a two point conversion was foiled but the refs called "Pass Interference" (finally refs!! I swear they were calling stuff for the other team right and left in their favor and screwing us on every call... a different rant for a different blog) so we got a second chance. On our second try, the quarter back ran it in and we were tied. We kicked the ball to the other team and our AMAZING defense (they were incredible all night long, despite seeing so much play time - they had to be exhausted) held them and forced them to kick to us. We made a couple of good plays, just enough to get us within field goal range and with only 1 second remaining, the attempt was good! The fans stormed the field, it was so cool.. my throat is so hoarse from screaming though!

Camping and Circus

Once again, I have to report I had a fabulous weekend. Friday night I went camping with the Ashlee department; Ashlee Bradford and Ashley Fife and the men. I started the night out in usual Mickie style, that is, by forgetting to bring the S'mores stuff. After we got the tents put up (with Sand dune of course...), me and the girls went all the way back down the canyon to buy some stuff from the 7-11. After returning to the camp, we realized that we weren't going to have enough wood either (it was so cold!) so Eric and Chris went back down to same 7-11 to get wood. Then we were set for the night. It was so nice to get that one camping trip in, I can't believe summer is over. There were so many other things we wanted to do, we will definitely need to plan better next year.

Saturday Eric and I picked up our new laptop from PC Laptops.... once again, I have a sneaking suspicion that we paid too much. But now Eric can get his papers done for school without having to be gone for hours and hours. Then we were off to the U of U game, they played Weber State and it was a nice safe blow-out, but not as much as Eric was hoping for.

Further evidence... need I say more? The truly sad thing is is that out of the 5+ pictures I took, this one is actually the best.

Sunday we went to the Circus with Ashlee (B) and Jake. It was fun, except it seemed like they way over did it with the clowns... I don't remember them being so obnoxious last time I went. I would have loved to have taken the kids, they had sweet tiger tricks that Rena would have loved and Tommy would have gotten a kick out of the clowns.

The horses were, of course, my favorite but I didn't get a single decent picture! They were all blurry.

Eric got us tickets in the suite so for the first half of the show I was watching the Broncos game... would have been a better idea to watch the circus because they got their butts kicked by the Chiefs, who they were supposed to just stomp. It was a real let down. Eric's Bears won though, so that was nice. Now the Broncos are at 3-1 and the Bears are 2-2.
