Going Green

That's right, this currently popular phrase had me thinking this morning. I do love pink, but I thought maybe a green page is a little more me and will help me to remember each time I sign in to do something positive for the environment. This weekend I spent a LOT of time in the backyard cleaning it up... Eric and I live on half an acre and the horror is that it's all completely landscaped. It's so much work!!! Last summer Eric was in school and really busy with that and I didn't move in with him until August, so it pretty much got totally neglected all season long and boy are we paying the price now. However, after a few weekends of hard labor and the fact that my brothers came over and spent all day helping, it's starting to turn into such an amazing oasis. Yesterday I got a hair up my butt (it's an expression people, just calm down and no, Nanuk had nothing to do with it) to clean up the non functioning waterfall near the gazebo. So Syrena and I set about our business, even got out the shop vac and vacuumed the thing out and when Eric came out I said, "I want this to work now, what do we need to do?" About $150 later, it's working and I am so excited!! We cleaned out the gazebo and sat there last night just enjoying the yard, which I've actually never done before. Anytime I am out there, it's to work... It was a wake up call for me because it reminded me that you don't have to be hiking on a trail or camping in the mountains to enjoy nature, it's right there in your own backyard...

Dream Car

I am a firm believer in the Law of Attraction (things happen to you according to what you are thinking about, good or bad) so I have decided to think an awful lot about getting a new Dodge Zeo (pictured above and below).

They aren't on the market yet, but the moment they come out I want one so bad. They are electric cars and can go up to 250 miles before needing to be charged and can go from 0 to 60 in under six seconds. Here is the link if you want to learn more: http://www.dodge.com/en/autoshow/concept_vehicles/zeo/ I have printed out a picture and stuck it on my desk and I will get one of these cars. However, I am thinking it's not going to be a Nanuk friendly car; maybe I'll have to hang on to the Subaru for him.

Eric and I have made another wedding decision (they are few and far between, so pardon my excitement), but I need everyone's help. We knew from the get-go that we wanted it in the mountains, but weren't sure where. We have now decided that it's more "us" to have it at some random spot rather than an actual official reception/wedding hall. Plus it didn't hurt the decision any that it will cost us less. So here's the homework assignment: We need to find an place close to the valley (at the furthest maybe Park City) with an open area big enough for a large party (200-300 people maybe -still haven't decided if we are doing the wedding and the reception at the same place) and accessible to those that can't/won't hike. Once we have this issue out of the way, I have been promised a date. Thanks and love to all!

My First Time...

Okay, so I've never done this before and I promise to get better at it. Also, I think my page is way too pink, maybe something you all never thought you'd hear me say, so I'm going to have to play around with the colors a bit....

Anyway, I had a super fun weekend at the ITS company golf outing. However, I must have made an ass out of myself because Nic proclaimed me to have won the drunkest person award and I'm thinking that's not such a great honor. I can only hope that this doesn't mean I've surpassed Blaine's Christmas party performance that still is a fun topic of conversation. I completely took myself out running for the golf cart; I failed to notice the curb and just slammed myself full force on the pathway - spraining my ankle for the remainder of the weekend and providing entertainment for all that saw. Sometime later I nearly killed Ashlee and I going down a hill to pick up a stray ball. I turned the cart too hard and spun a 180 and everyone else said we almost tipped over - went up on two wheels and everything. The funny thing was, I felt totally in control and neither Ashlee nor I was the least bit concerned; it wasn't until after the fact that we learned I had just about maimed ourselves with some crazy maneuver that would have no doubt banned us from the golf course. I guess that's why they tell you not to drink and drive.

I guess that's it for the first blog, I have no idea how this whole thing works and if you can give me feedback, I'd appreciate it!!
